Becoming a Referee

To become a referee you will need to be at least 14 years of age and be a resident of England.
A referee is appointed to a football game in order to apply the Laws of the Game, so that it is played fairly and safely.
The 1st course all candidates will take, is the Basic Referees Course in order to qualify for 11 aside and 9 aside football.
Once you are a qualified referee, you can receive a fee for appearing in matches, and your travel expenses are also covered..! So not only is it rewarding personally but it is financially as well.
