As discussed at our recent Full Council Meeting, we are pleased to formally announce the details of our forthcoming Silent Sunday event. The purpose of the event is to try to encourage players to play the game, and referees to officiate the game, without outside influence of shouting from mangers, parents and spectators. We would like everyone involved in games on this day to think about the way that they behave on the touchline and simply allow the young people involved in the games, to get on and enjoy themselves playing the game that we love.
Attached with this email is a pack detailing the purpose and principles of the event and we would appreciate you sharing the idea with your teams over the coming weeks, so that come the 24th March, they are fully aware of what the day is all about and what is expected of them.
We will be advertising the event on our various social media channels and would appreciate it if you could post feedback on the event using #cyflsilentsunday.
We appreciate your support and look forward to a really positive footballing Sunday, where the focus is on the enjoyment of playing the game and RESPECT, as opposed to ill discipline and misconduct!
Jonathan Brown - League Secretary
We have sent an email out this evening to the club secretary lies are some club amendments that I have been notified of over the opening weeks of the season. Please note that at present, the paper handbook and Online / Virtual handbook will not have been updated with these changes. I will be looking to update the online / virtual handbook in October, so would appreciate you notifying me of any changes to contact details by 10th October please. However in the meantime, please circulate the amendments attached to this email to your managers and administrators.
Today I have received some feedback from 2 clubs into the Temporary Dismissals scheme which is in place for all CYFL matches this season. I would welcome feedback from clubs in relation to how this is working, both from a referee and team perspective - please email any feedback - both good and constructive over so that we can monitor the success of the scheme.
I also attach an email from Mike Desborough which he has sent out to the Bedfordshire referees today, who are part of the Central Appointments System.
It has been reported to me that a handful of referees are using the Sin Bin process for offences besides dissent.
Temporary Dismissals (Sin Bin) is in use for DISSENT ONLY. The following competitions are using Temporary Dismissals;
Bedford & District Sunday League
Chiltern Youth League
Bedfordshire Youth Saturday League
Chiltern Junior Sevens
All other yellow card offences are dealt with in the normal manner and players must not be told to leave the field of play for said offences. Players must only be told to leave the field of play and placed into the Sin Bin for dissent.
I look forward to receiving any feedback that you have
Secretary, Chiltern Youth Football League
Clubs may be experiencing issues with logging into your Full-Time account and also receiving SMS.
This is now due to team administrators automatically being created in Whole Game System (WGS) by the CLUBS and no longer set-up manually by the league.
As a result new Full-Time accounts have been created for the new season and your login credentials from last season will no longer work.
Most of you will have already received an email from Full-Time inviting you to complete your new account set-up. If you haven't yet received it please do the following:
*Check your junk mail for an email from email@example.com
*Ensure that you have your current contact details up to date in WGS (not full time); email and mobile number.
*Make sure with your CLUB you are set up as Team Administrator. Full Time SMS and Full Time Email and Manager for your team
Once your have updated your contact details in WGS and the CLUB has you set up, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing Jonathan Brown or Pamela Johnson so that we can arrange for your Full Time email to be sent to you and add you to received SMS.
Just wanted to touch base with regards to some important actions and dates that are coming up.
I hope to be able to distribute this to you - the final version - in the next 48 hours. Thank you to those clubs who passed on their observations. The finalising had been delayed by some additional teams joining us and some withdrawals as well
Registration of Players (on Whole Game System)
We have seen some players already registered on the Whole Game system - thank you to those who have started the process. A reminder that a minimum of 12 players (for 11v11 teams) and 10 players (for 9v9 teams) need to be registered by 15th August. Please also note that for players to be eligible to play on the first Sunday of the season, they must be registered by 31st August. If you require any assistance with the registration of players, please contact Pamela Johnson (Player Registrations Secretary - firstname.lastname@example.org)
Outstanding League Subscriptions
I have written to all clubs who have not as yet made the necessary payment. As a reminder, any payment not made by 31st July (which is generous as payment should have been made at time of application) will be liable to a levy of £10 per TEAM being added. Please avoid this by taking action asap.
I am in the process of updating the CYFL handbook for the coming season. In the next week, I will be circulating a link to the Club Directory section of the handbook and I would ask that you take 10 minutes to update your details (and those of your teams) to ensure that the handbook is as up to date as possible. Submissions will need to be completed by 4th August so watch this space for more details. Your assistance in the matter is appreciated.
Please ensure that you contact your relevant County FA prior to any friendly taking place, to ensure that your game is sanctioned. This will ensure that you are insured in the event of any injuries etc.
Please remember that our pre-season Full Council meeting is being held on Monday 3rd September at the Beds FA. This meeting is mandatory for all clubs. Further details will be circulated in due course.
As advised at the AGM, the CYFL will be participating in the temporary dismissals scheme for the coming season. I have just circulated details of when the training sessions for managers (also referees) are to be held and we would encourage all managers to attend one of these sessions. We have managed to combine one of the sessions with our Full Council Meeting on Monday 3rd September to save people a little time over the summer.
Season Start Date
The first playing day of the season will be Sunday 9th September
Free Week Requests
Please note that if you require a free Sunday on 9th September you will need to request it in writing to Tony Gee by 9th August. Any subsequent requests must give a months notice. Please note that the fixtures during the early part of the season are particularly testing for Tony, due to the County Cup fixtures, which take precedence over CYFL fixtures, hence changes may need to be made. Tony Gee - Email email@example.com
For those clubs who are new to the league or who have new secretaries, please let me know if you have any questions about the above or any other aspects of the CYFL.
