Leighton Utd Reds U17's
The club was established in 1985 by a group of local parents when one team was formed at the under 12 age group level. At that time the club was called the BR Foxes FC (BR standing for Brooklands Residents - a suburb of Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire).
The team play in Blue and Yellow and are managed/coached by Laurence Gutteridge and Barrie Childs. The team is built around a core of players who have been part of Leighton United for many years including two who came though the clubs Mini Soccer, this is complimented with players that have joined over the last couple of years who have added to the quality and depth of the squad. While the new additions have helped with results, it's been the attitude to learning and taking on responsibility by the all of the squad that has been the biggest reason for the team’s improvement, and for that the players must take the credit.
At this stage of the season we are second in the league and Leighton United Under 17 Reds are having an exceptional season, having only dropped 4 points and are battling it out with Caddington Youth at the top of the league. After years of struggling to gain results the last 2 years have shown a remarkable turnaround in fortunes, culminating with their first appearance in this Cup Final. On our journey to reach the cup final we played two hard games against AFC Shillington and our league nemesis Caddington Youth.
The players should feel extremely proud of what they have achieved this season, however it finishes.

AFC Oakley Blues U18's
For the past 4 seasons the team have played in the MK & Border Counties league, culminating in winning the division 2 title last season. This season however as an under 17s team, AFC Oakley Blues play in Division 2 in the under 18s league, currently lying 2nd from bottom with games in hand due to our successful cup runs.
The team struggled initially with the physical aspect of the game but kept to their principles, instilled by their coach Ian Scott, of playing simple possession football. Having lost our first few games and only by the odd goal, we are still in contention to finish runners up in division 2.
The route to the under 18s League Cup final has been extremely tough. In the group stages AFC Oakley Blues were drawn against 3 division 1 teams, finishing runners up in the group stages. The team played division 1 opposition in the quarter final, beating AFC Kempston Town and Bedford College 5-2, before going on to beat AFC Dunstable 1-0 in the semi final.
The coaches, the players parents and everyone connected to AFC Oakley M & DH are extremely proud of the under 18s Blues achievements this season, particularly as they are playing against opposition that are a year older than them.

Sharnbrook FC U18's
Sharnbrook FC are currently in their first season in the Chiltern Youth Football League.
They are top of division 1 and unbeaten in the league and only losing one game to today's opponents in a hard fought county cup match 3-1.
On route to the final they beat Caddington Youth away 2-1 with a brace from Kieron Barnes.
We have a good group of boys who all get on well together in and out of football and are all loyal and committed to their Sunday football with or without hangovers!!
This is my final year as a manager and I have enjoyed 10 good seasons of ups and downs in all the age groups, a shout out to Tom and Scott who play today and have been in every team I have managed.
A big thank you to Sharnbrook Animal feeds and Kim who made this season all possible and the parents who are their supporting us in all weathers and venues.
Good luck to all the lads today in which will be a very hard game against a good AFC Oakley M&DH Blues side.
